English: This a map of the Battle of White Sulphur Springs, which occurred on August 26-27, 1863, in the American Civil War. The drawing is by a Union officer. A Confederate force led by Colonel George S. Patton defeated Br. General William W. Averell.

Author Published under the direction of the U.S. Secretaries of War by Major George B. Davis (U.S. Army), Leslie J. Perry (civilian expert), and Joseph W. Kirkley (civilian expert). The map itself was drawn by Lieutenant John R. Meigs, who was present at the battle.

Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Also known as the Battle of Dry Creek or the Battle of Rocky Gap.
