Summary

Description
English: Structure of matlaline, a fluorescent substance from the Mexican tree Eysenhardtia_polystachya (Ort.) Sarg. (formerly "Lignum nephriticum"). It fluoresces sky blue in aqueous solution. First reported in Europe in 1565.
