Description
English: Merseyside Maritime Museum, Albert Dock, Liverpool One of Europe's largest maritime museums housed in a Grade I-listed former warehouse designed and built by Jesse Hartley in 1846. Includes historic vessels and two historic quaysides. The displays reflect the history of the merchant navy, shipping from the 13th century and the development of the Port of Liverpool and its international links. The International Slavery Museum, opened in August 2007 on the third floor, tells the story of the transatlantic slave trade up to its abolition in 1807.
