Description Grave markers of Mervyn S. Bennion, Captain of the USS West Virginia (BB-48) at the time of his death, who died from injuries at the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. Captain Bennion was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. He is buried at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Photo was take Memorial Day weekend, 2008.
