English: The New Otani Hotel was used as a location for the 1967 James Bond film "You Only Live Twice", featured as the headquarters of Osato Chemicals, a SPECTRE shell company. The film used the conference and banquet level with its separate entrance on the ground floor seen here as the entrance to Osato, where Bond is picked up by Aki in the iconic scene featuring the custom Toyota 2000GT, while the impact to the hotel lobby entrance on the raised level was minimized. |
