Description

Interior of Leeds School of Medicine, Thoresby Place, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was designed by William Henry Thorp (born 1852), founded in 1890, and completed in 1894.

Showing a marble wall memorial, on the student or service stairway. It commemorates Guy Alfred Wyon (1883-1924), a lecturer in pathology at Old Leeds School of Medicine. He died at age 40.

Guy Alfred Wyon was related to the Wyon family of sculptors and engravers who were associated with the Royal Mint. The medallion was sculpted by his brother Allan Gairdner Wyon, who signed the work.
