DescriptionPengantin Pegon khas Surabaya.jpg |
English: Many marriages held by Surabaya people use Javanese customs but refer to there is Java Jogja or Solo Basahan. Though in fact Surabaya itself has its own distinctive wedding customs, Pegon Bride.
Pegon brides because they were born from coastal communities that are visited by traders and merchants from all over the world, as I explained above, then experienced cultural influences from various ethnic groups that existed and lived in Surabaya at that time. Pegon's bride is influenced by the Arab, Chinese, Dutch and Surabaya kingdoms themselves. In this section I will focus on explaining the fashion and makeup of Pegon. For the wedding procedure, I will explain in the next section;) In terms of clothing and bridal make-up, Pegon's wedding dress is somewhat different from Jogja's bride or Solo bride. Wedding gowns consist of long sleeved skirts and blouses with long skirts to ankles, or to the extent that the calf and blouse should not be transparent. For fashion colors, Pegon's brides tend to be soft colors like light yellow, pink or light blue. The bride and groom must use gloves that are in line with the color of clothing and leather-colored stockings. For footwear use closed and high heeled loafers. On the left shoulder a scarf dangling back about 2 meters long and above decorated with corsage. The bride also brought hand bouquet. For jewelry that is used is jewelry of kolie jewel necklace (a type of large gem2), long earrings with gems, bracelets and rings. For makeup used tends to be soft and adjusted or in line with the color of the clothes worn. For bun makeup, the bride's hair is divided into two, up and down. Each of the bases was partly woven and partially laced up to form spheres which were then topped with fir. The top part of the hair is full, it is rounded and the left and right sides cover one third of the earlobe. Cemara is shaped like a round bun from left to right. The bun is covered with a jasmine flower ronce with a jasmine comb placed on the top of the bun between the head and bun. At the bottom of the bun is a yellow flower ronce with jasmine in the middle that connects with the comb. Jasmine flowers are also mounted on the right and left side of the bun. The left side is installed as many as 7 strands of jasmine along 50 cm and the right is installed as many as 5 strands of jasmine along 25 cm. In the middle of the shoulders, rose flowers are placed with jasmine flower fringes. To cover the front of the bun, the crown is placed right on the forehead or where young hair grows. The distance between the bun and crown is also covered with a rose decoration. Then the rocking flower is installed as many as 12 pieces, 7 facing forward and 5 facing backwards For the bride and groom, the makeup and clothing are simpler. The bridegroom uses trousers and robes, and a turban-shaped hat that is given a jasmine ronce to the right with 2 shake flowers. The groom also uses footwear in the form of a slipper and sash made of jasmine flowers |
