Purpose of use	During the Pokémon craze of 1999-2000, the ubiquitous Pokémon franchise was often criticized for being "ruthlessly commercial" (source) and "a trend manufactured by those with purely financial interests" (source), in which children were being "brainwashed" (source). These critical quotes are all in the article. The picture serves to visualize this critique, illustrating the cynical response many people gave towards the 'money-grubbing' Pokémon fad. The image is used on Wikipedia for educational purposes only.
