Summary

Description The Portland Korean Church, at 933 S.W. Clay Street (at the corner of 10th Avenue & Clay Street) in downtown Portland, Oregon, in 2011. The building was completed in 1905, as the First German Evangelical Church. It remained in use by the same congregation for 73 years, albeit with "German" dropped from the name around the 1930s. It was sold in 1978, when the First Evangelical Church moved to the westside suburban area north of Beaverton, and the building then became the Portland Korean Church. The building was gutted by a fire in January 2023 and was demolished a few days later; at that time, it had been vacant for several years.
