Cartographers of the Office of Coast Survey's Marine Chart Division, Products Branch gather in Hassler Park to pay tribute to Ferdinand Hassler, first superintendent of the U.S. Survey of the Coast. The branch maintains a suite of nautical charts covering the eastern seaboard including New York Harbor, where Hassler first began his field work in 1816.
