Summary

Description
English: Potter's Barn, Waterloo, Merseyside.

On 18th June 1816 the first major building opened in the area of sandhills and fields known as Crosby Seabank. It was the first anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo and The Waterloo Hotel was named in honour of Wellington's defeat of Napoleon. The hotel later took the name the Royal Waterloo and the area became known as Waterloo. Potters Barn park buildings are replicas of the farmhouse of La Haye Sainte which featured in the battle. Ironically, the name Waterloo was dropped and it is now known simply as the Royal Hotel.

This is a photo of listed building number 1257626.
