English: President Benigno S. Aquino III receives from Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje the 100 Millionth National Greening Program (NGP) seedlings during the 25th Anniversary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the 40th World Environment Day at the Heroes Hall, Malacañan Palace Tuesday June 19, 2012. President Aquino issued Executive Order No. 26 ordering and declaring the implementation of a National Greening Program as a government priority. The program shall plant 1.5 billion trees covering about 1.5 million hectares by 2016. The lands covered by the NGP aretenured lands of the public domain, including the following: forestlands, mangrove and protected areas, ancestral domains, civil and military reservations, urban areas under the greening plan of the LGUs, inactive and abandoned mine sites and other suitable lands identified by the DENR.
