Summary

Description

Ball-and-stick model of a pyridoxal molecule, C8H9NO3, a form of vitamin B6, as found in the crystal structure reported in Acta Crystallogr. C (1985) 41, 261–263 and CSD entry BIHKEI01.

This experimentally determined structure differs from the typical idealised textbook representation of the structure of pyridoxal:

Colour code:

Carbon, C: grey
Hydrogen, H: white
Nitrogen, N: blue
Oxygen, O: red
