Ab dem Jahr 1846 lebte er als Rodolphe Pfnor in Paris, wo er auch 1909 starb. In Frankreich wurde er zu einem hochangesehenen graphischen Künstler, der sich u. a. durch eine die detaillierte Dokumentation der Architektur und des Interieurs mehrerer Schlösser (unter anderem Fontainebleau und Heidelberg) auszeichnete. English: Rudolf Pfnor [1824 - 1909] was born in Darmstadt (today the Federal Republic of Germany). He was the son of the inventor Johann Wilhelm Gottlieb Pfnor. From 1846 he lived as Rodolphe Pfnor in Paris, where he also died in 1909. In France he became a highly respected graphic artist who distinguished himself among other things by his detailed documentation of the architecture and interiors of several castles (among others Fontainebleau and Heidelberg). Pfnor's graphic works were auctioned at Christie's, among others. - This portrait is a unique work from the hand of the twenty-year-old Pfnor.
