Description
English: Between the years of 1135 and 1152 the guildhall of Cologne was mentioned for the first in documents as the ‚Haus der Bürger’. The late-Gothic tower, 61 metres high, was built up between 1407 -1414.
Deutsch: Das Kölner Rathaus Den spätgotischen Turm mit seinen drei vierkantigen unteren und zwei achteckigen Obergeschossen zieren nicht weniger als 130 Steinstatuen und nicht zu vergessen der berühmte "Platz-Jabbeck", eine holzgeschnitzte Fratze, die bei jedem Stundenschlag der Turmuhr das Maul aufreißt und ihre Zunge herausstreckt. 1569 errichte Baumeister Wilhelm Vernukken den Renaissance-Vorbau, die sogenannte Rathauslaube.
