Cymraeg: Cerflun o Richard Davies at Gofeb Cyfieithwyr y Beibl yn Llanelwy. Fe'i ganed yn y Gyffin, ger Conwy. Bu'n Esgob Llanelwy a Thyddewi. Fe'i cofir yn bennaf am ei waith ar y cyd â William Salesbury yn cyfieithu'r Testament Newydd i'r Gymraeg. Richard Davies yw awdur yr Epistol at y Cembru ('Llythyr at y Cymry') a geir ar ddechrau Testament Newydd 1567.
English: Richard Davies (bishop) on the translators' Monument, St Asaph, North Wales. He assisted William Salesbury in translating the New Testament into Welsh, and also did some work on the Welsh translation of the Book of Common Prayer. He helped to revise the Bishops' Bible of 1568, being himself responsible for the book of Deuteronomy, and the second book of Samuel.
