Summary

Description
English: 1861 pattern for women's lace collar using Hutton's waved lacet braid (an early commercial brand of rickrack trim). The collar was made by sewing the braid to a piece of marked paper or muslin backing in the desired pattern, and then the pieces of rickrack were stitched together with heavy cotton thread in a point D'Angleterre pattern. When finished, the backing was removed and the heavy cotton thread held the lace collar together.
