English: Portrait of Samuel Bloemaert (1583-1654), dated 1647, canvas, oil paint, 74.5 x 61.0 cm. Blommaert's functions: merchant's clerk in Hamburg, Amsterdam, Vienna; chief commissioners in Soekadana and Landak (1608-1610); merchant in Amsterdam (after 1610); director of the West India Company (1622); commissioner of the Crown of Sweden in Amsterdam (1639).
