Summary

Description
English: The TTC will be closing its third rapid transit route - the SRT or Scarborough Rapid Transit, after approximately 40 years. The route was the first to use a model of vehicle propelled by a linear induction motor. The Vancouver SkyTrain was the second place these vehicles were used, and they were celebrated as a great success there.

They were, however, an orphan stepchild in Toronto. They were originally developed by a Provincial Corporation, and, since the Province contributed a big share of the funding of the new route, they were able to insist on the use of these vehicles. The TTC wanted to use streetcar style vehicles.

I made an excursion to Scarborough to take pictures at every station, prior to the closure.
