ID#: 4842 Description: This micrograph reveals an egg from the trematode Schistosoma haematobium.

Schistosoma haematobium is one of the trematodes that causes the parasitic disease Schistosomiasis, and also has a posterior spine. S. haematobium infections are diagnosed when the presence of their eggs in the urine sample is confirmed.
