The church dates from the 13th century onwards and consists of a west tower, chancel, nave, north and south aisle, chancel,south porch and vestry. The three stage tower dates from the 15th century and has a crenellated parapet with four pinnacles. The tower is fairly large in proportion to the rest of the church. There are three bells. The nave has north and south aisles, the north aisle is late 13th century of three bays, the south aisle also of three bays has 19th century windows. The west end has a single square headed late 15th century window. The chancel dates from the 14th century and was restored in 1881. The chancel arch is 13th century, the rafter roof dates from 1881. The nave was restored and the vestry built in 1884. The nave arcades are early 13th century with round piers. The roof is 19th-century. The tower arch dates from the 13th century, the tower chamber has parts of a 12th century traceried panel. The south aisle has a restored 14th century piscina with leaf carving. There is a another restored piscina in the chancel. There are 2 15th century Misericords, one of Saint Wilfrid and one depicting Winter. There is a font circa 1170 or earlier, with round headed arcading with a 19th-century wooden cover. There is similar arcade work on the west front of Lincoln Cathedral. The tower chamber includes an alabaster chest tomb to Richard Whalley with his three wives and 23 children.

There are also fragments of Anglo-Saxon tomb slab.
