Notes

The Background colour indicates the party of the sitting MP at any given year. The striped grey background indicates the period during which the constituency was abolished.

Elections held in 1895, 1900, and 1922 do not appear on this graph. Only one candidate (Conservative) stood at each of these elections and so no votes were cast, the candidate being elected unopposed.Dashed lines indicate the missing elections.
