Summary

Description
English: This is the Single Brothers Home, located at the corner of South Main Street and Academy Street in the Old Salem Historic District in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Constructed in 1769, the half-timbered portion of the building was the one of the earliest buildings in Salem, and the distinctive appearance of the building as it appears today and did during its period of significance is not visible in the historic HABS photo from the 1940s. The building is a contributing structure in the Old Salem Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966, and was designated as an individually listed National Historic Landmark in 1970.
