Summary

Description
English: Colorized photograph on a small glass panel depicting a single tree on the edge of a cliff. The tree is leaning over to one side. This slide is assumed to be an original lantern slide autochrome created by Harold A. Taylor, a California photographer and longtime resident of Coronado. Harold A. Taylor was born in the United Kingdom in 1878. In 1896, he immigrated to California, where he photographed Yosemite and other natural scenes in the state. He is credited with developing an early method of colorizing photographs at a time when color photography was just beginning to emerge. In 1912, Taylor moved to Coronado, CA where he established the Coronado Floral Association and continued his photography business. He died in 1960 in El Cajon, CA.
