Summary

Description
English: One of the few still-available images made by the Quill satellite radar covered part of Richmond, VA. To present both ground-plane and slant-plane versions of that image here, these copies have been digitally altered to accomplish the appropriate amounts of "range-stretching" and "range-compressing" by amounts that are indicated by the distortions of what were callout circles. The large difference exists because Quill used an unusually steep depression angle.
Date
Source Own work derived from image shown on p. 23 of J. A. Charleston's "NRO 50th Anniversary Lecture". ([http://www.nro.gov/foia/declass/QUILL.html)
