Smith Premier Typewriter Company, Syracuse, New York; from a c. 1908 postcard published by William Jubb, Syracuse, New York. The factory was built in 1903 when the four Smith brothers -- Lyman, Wilbert, Monroe and Hurlburt -- quit the Smith Premier Typewriter Company to found the rival L. C. Smith & Brothers Typewriter Company, ancestor of the Smith Corona Company.
