English: Overview of the beautiful erstwhile Smith's Falls station of the now defunct Canadian Northern Railway. The station now houses the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario. Intended to serve as a model of the high architectural standards of the Canadian Northern at that time, the station featured a decorative turret (seen here), a mens' smoking room, a ladies' waiting room, a carriage portico and adjoining express office building. The low volumes of traffic at the station unfortunately failed to attract passengers away from the Canadian Pacific station across town. This station thus went on the decline and the last passenger train called here in 1979.
