Description
English: J. C. Davis illustration of carriage heading from Willoughby Run eastward into Herbst Woods toward Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on Springs Hotel Avenue along the Horse Railroad. Westbound en:horse trolley (middle) and Springs Hotel (background),[1] buildings of Katalysine Springs (right)[1] included 12 apartments and subsequent 1895 Bath House.[2] Area became 20th century site of Gettysburg Country Club golf course acquired by National Park Service in 2011. For the "Springs Hotel -- Cupola" directional image which was "Entered according to Act of Congress 1872, by John B. Bachelder, in the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington", see page 106.
