Description
English: St Mary's Church, Churchgate Street, Harlow, Essex, Stained glass window, showing arms of Henry Compton (1632-1713), Bishop of London from 1675 to 1713. Arms of the See of London (Gules, two swords in saltire points uppermost argent hilts and pommels or) impaling Compton (Sable, a lion passant guardant or between three esquire's helmets argent). The portraits on either side appear to be left: the deposed King James II, with fallen crown, and right: his successor Queen Mary II, strongly supported by the Bishop.
