Description
English: Statues of (from left to right) en:Sang Nila Utama, a pseudo-legendary Prince from en:Palembang who supposedly founded the en:Kingdom of Singapura, en:Munshi Abdullah, a Malay linguist in the employ of Sir Stamford Raffles who would come to be known as the "Father of Modern Malay Literature", en:Tan Tock Seng, a prominent Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist, Sir en:Stamford Raffles, founder of the British colony of Singapore, and en:Naraina Pillai, a leader of the Indian community in the colony of Singapore and contributor to the en:Sri Mariamman Temple, Singapore. All statues save for that of Sir Stamford Raffles were erected at the en:Raffles Landing Site as part of events commemorating the bicentennial of Singapore's colonisation by the en:British East India Company.
