DescriptionStork Club gifts November 1944.jpg	English: Photo of gifts given to patrons of the Stork Club by Sherman Billingsley in 1944. Billingsley spent over $100,000 every year for gifts to entice celebrities to the club and to make regular visits to it. Renewal searches were done in publications for the years 1971 and 1972. The listings for Life for renewal in 1971 are only for the issues dated in 1943; there are no listings for the magazine in1972 renewals. Time magazine, which is published by the same publisher, was also not renewed during the same time frame. There's no evidence of renewal for any Life 1944 issues.
