English: Berlin, Tegel Airport (TXL/EDDT). View from the visitors terrace towards Terminal D. The gates 13 and 14 in the foreground are designed to be combined to handle large airliners like the Boeing 747. For this purpose, the jetway number 14 can be swung around to dock with the opposite side of an aircraft already docked at gate 13.

Die Fluggastbrücke von Position 14 kann nach rechts herübergeschwenkt werden, um dort Großraumjets wie die Boeing 747 gleichzeitig über zwei benachbarte Flugsteige abzufertigen. Diese Eigenschaft wurde jedoch nie im Linienbetrieb eingesetzt. Lediglich Pan Am war in den 70er Jahren zu Testzwecken mit einer 747 in Tegel. |
