Summary

Description

A Tuck's Oilette by the famous military painter Harry Payne with assistance from his brother Arthur, first published in 1911. The reverse of the postcard is very informative.

"21st Lancers. The regiment of cavalry which may be stationed at Hounslow supplies a squadron for duty at Hampton Court, and a "picquet", consisting of one corporal and four men, for duty as despatch orderlies between the War Office, the Horse Guards and other Government Offices. The troopers for this are specially selected for smartness and appearance". The troopers are passing Marlborough House along the Horse ride in The Mall.
