DescriptionToll Cottage at Swarkestone Lock - geograph.org.uk - 251016.jpg
English: Toll Cottage at Swarkestone Lock, Swarkestone junction on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Would have been a busy area of commerce when the canals were used for goods transport. The Derby canal, now closed, joined the T&M at this point. The toll cottage with its windows facing out to the canal is preserved, along with a small crane. The lock is a few yards behind the photographer.
