Summary

Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVB-43) during her shakedown cruise in 1948. As shown in this photo Coral Sea was completed with 14 - rather than 18 - 5"(12.7 cm)/54 guns as compared to her sister ships Midway and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The various Douglas AD Skykraider and Vought F4U Corsair aircraft were probably of Carrier Air Group 5 (CVBG-5).
