Summary

Description The U.S. Navy frigate USS Moinester (FF-1097) serving as a temporary home for some 200 Haitian refugees at Guantanamo Bay, circa in December 1991. In late November 1991 the frigate was steaming near Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, when lookouts spotted a 12 m sailboat in distress. Aboard were 198 refugees from Haiti that Moinester rescued and brought to Guantanamo Bay.
