Summary

Description
English: Strand, Dahn & Liebert first reported the binary nature of this system in 1976. Harrington, Christy & Strand 1981 described this binary more in detail. G107-70 (aka WD 0727+482) forms with G107-69 a nearby quadruple system (ca. 11.3 parsec/36.8 light years in Gaia DR3).

In 1999 Bond et al. published their Hubble WFPC2 based orbital period of 19.25 years for G107-70. The animation here is based on their observations.

Dates: 1997-09-28, 1998-03-23, 1998-10-18, 1999-04-03, 1999-10-01

First I aligned the images according to background stars. I assumed an equal mass binary due to the similar brightness of both white dwarfs and used a barycenter in the middle between the white dwarfs. I then moved the images to align the barycenter, canceling any proper motion or parallax effect.
