I trust the photo, reachesyou all right. The 3 on our coats stands for 3rd demarche. I had on a red cap—the rest gray, whichis really what is worn now, but thus far I haventbeen given one. If you notice the shoes we wearyou will see they are pretty large and not veryshapely but they are what are worn by the French

One wasa young fellow from near Buffalo, Hall by name, andthe other an older man—a Greek, naturalized forsome years as an American and a fine man too.He had left $250 a month salary in the States (arailroad engineer or something like that) to comeover here and he lost his life in the very first attackhe made.
