Summary
| Description |
English: Built in 1976, this Modern skyscraper was constructed for the Wheeling Dollar Bank Company to serve as the bank’s headquarters, later becoming the headquarters of WesBanco upon the merger of the bank with several others. The building features a large glass-clad volume above a base clad in opaque stone and metal panels, and exposed exterior columns with storefronts recessed behind them, a drive-through for the bank on the north side of the building, and a rooftop penthouse. The building is a noncontributing structure in the Wheeling Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The building serves as part of the WesBanco Bank headquarters. |
