The archival notes indicate this image is from the 1880s. This is much too early. There was no ferry on this route until late 1888, and the ferry shown here at the dock was the West Seattle, which was not built until 1907. West Seattle was taken off this route in 1920, which allows this image to be dated to circa 1913 with a plus or minus of six or seven years.
