James Shivas (1836-1930), Scottish portrait and landscape photographer - <a href="http://images.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/james-shivas" rel="noreferrer nofollow">images.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/james-shivas</a>

James Shivas established his first permanent studio in Peterhead in Broad Street in 1863, although he had operated from various temporary locations since 1857. In March 1866, Shivas bought the Queen Street studio of Peterhead's principal photographer, Joseph Collier. He also acquired Collier's stock of glass plate negatives.
