I believe the older gentleman is a British military weteran NOT a Civil War veteran as described. The medal is what leads me to believe this. If he is not a Crimean war vet then quite possibly one from an earlier time (Napoleonic wars?). Yes. Yes, that would see about right. Assuming he was of military age in 1815 (around 18 years old), that would put him in his 60s by the time the photo was taken. The style of clothing they're wearing also looks more British than American. 208.101.129.17 (talk) 04:34, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
