"The device was highly radioactive" - this seems very unlikely. Only some megavolt x-ray generators can become radioactive or make other things radioactive; 60kV x-ray generators cannot. The x-radiation stops completely as soon as power is switched off. This unit could be radioactive IF it contains a radioactive isotope as a gamma-ray source, but that is unlikely because isotope sources are not strong enough to make a viewable image on a fluorescent screen. This unit could be radioactive IF it was contaminated, but that is unlikely because the rest of the shoe store and the city around it would also have been contaminated, and that would have made national headlines. -A876 (talk) 23:08, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
