Waaaaiiiit a minute...


If the memory structure of the device is that it holds values with a 14-bit mantissa, plus a sign and overflow bit, shouldn't the maximum displayable values then be +/- 16383? Or, if it displays in Octal, +/- 37777 (with no 8s or 9s)? Or are the displayed values something to do with it being converted from metric to imperial?


16383 metres = 17917 yards = 53750 feet...

16383 miles = 26365 kilometres

Maybe it's pressure, then? Or speed?


16383 m/s = 58979 km/h = 36649 mph

16383 mbar = 237.55 psi = 483.79 in Hg...
