2-color maps[edit]

example of old map (full size here) that we are trying to replace
Dado's map
Ante's map

I made some new municipality location maps baceuse existing ones are too small and with too low resolution (see image right).

Please, comment those maps. --Ante Perkovic 22:30, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

These municipalities already exist at [1] --Dado 22:59, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I could say the same for your work, since all the maps existed when you started your maps 2 days ago. You made new maps baceuse you wanted them to look better. I am doing exactly the same.
The only difference is that I will wait for other user's opinion before finishing all the maps, unlike you.
Anyway, I put 3 maps on the right, so people can copmare --Ante Perkovic 23:30, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brcko district needs to be modified. The IEBL going through it should instead be made into a dotted line, and (if the map with different colors for the entities is chosen) a compromise color between the shades used for RS and FBiH should be used. Live Forever 23:46, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noticing. Now I'm glad that I haven't made all the maps ;). --Ante Perkovic 23:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. One more thing: while I don't have a problem with a map that highlights the difference between the entities through color, I would prefer colors a little less contrasting than red/blue. Could we just use the color scheme in the old map and implement it here with the newer otherwise better quality one? Live Forever 00:02, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Red color from the maps is FFBBBB, so I used BBBBFF for blue. Dark colors are FF2222 and 2222FF. If we want map to look nice, I suggest FFBBFF and FF22FF for Brcko district (green, same hue as those 2 colors). If someone wants to experiment, go ahead. --Ante Perkovic 00:39, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect maps[edit]

I really don't see what the problem is. These maps by Ante are pretty much perfect. I like the new colours as well, the old purple-blue was vomit inducing. estavisti 00:28, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But his map also has that vomit color. Only difference is different coloring, and that he merged two municipalities wich form Brcko district. Brcko district isn't municipality. We are dealing here with municipalities not entites and district. As simple as that. Article about BiH, Federation, Republika Sprska and Brcko District should have Ante's maps. As simple as that. --HarisM 18:20, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Brčko District isn't a municipality, but it doesn't have any municipalities within it either, as you seem to think. It simply covers the teritory of the pre-war Brčko opština. It's not quite the third entity. Read the Brčko Final Award. --estavisti 19:53, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's not entity but on the OHR map Brcko District is shown as two municipalities. If you can explain why is that divided i would agree with you. Look at map. Update: http://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Слика:OpstinaBrckoEtnicka1996.jpg, becuase of this i don't see any problem regarding Brcko district on map. We are just complicating further, maps are done and they have no problems regarding borders.--HarisM 19:59, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Here is one OHR map showing 16, not 2, subdivisions. It is unlikely that these are municipalities, they are propably (I don't know how to translate this) Mjesne zajednice. Regarding map from sr wiki, it has nothing to do with municipalities, it just shows the frontline from 1995.
Beside, if there are 2 municipalities, what would be their names ?--Ante Perkovic 20:08, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is confusing. I know, Brčko district is divided by IEBL. That map i gave you show that, and this confirms it [2]. I don't want to repeat myself, but existing map do the job and show the geographical location. Brčko District is specific, and it should contain colored maps and with also IEBL, becuase District is in FBIH and RS.
it is formally part of both the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska.
And becuase of that it should be colored but put emphasis on that District isn't Entity as someone who doesent know situation would assume. --HarisM 20:35, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I red Brcko Final Award. You are right about BD being part of both entities, but, on the other side, the map you provided (pdf document of 7 pages) doesn't show district at all! So, I can't take it as a reliable source. Furthermore, Brcko Final Award clearly states No subdivision of the District on any ethnic basis shall be permitted which contraditcs your claim of 2 municipalities.
I would also remind you that you still didn't provide the names of those alledged 2 municipalities. --Ante Perkovic 22:13, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know names, and think that they are not important, as the border itself was created by the war. Simple solution is to make colored maps in articles about BiH, FBiH, RS and BD. For Municipalities one color option, as maps are allready made. I repeat, we don't need to complicate any further, if you want you can add BD to maps, but it is irevelant to other municipalities as BD itself is specific administrative and political region and it deserves distinct maps and explanations (IEBL borders also included, but with explanation why and how...). Most of forgein readers would not undestand situation by just looking BD on map and don't knowing where it belongs (it's not entity) and how it was created --HarisM 22:39, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Off topic:

I prefer Dados map cause that shows Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ante "dragi moj" map shows Bosnia as a divided region between two countries and that is not the reality. I think that Ante should be punished in Wikipedia cause he doesnt show the truth.--—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hahahihihoho (talkcontribs).

One army, One police, One money, we are Bosnia and Herzegovina! Not the Federation and Republika Srpska. --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hahahihihoho (talkcontribs).

Any comment from someone who hasn't sleept over last 15 years? --Ante Perkovic 14:31, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Look Ante: Bosnia is a independence country whatever you want it or not, your idol Mate Boban is died so you cant count on his support. --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hahahihihoho (talkcontribs).

Look, Hahahihihoho: Bosnia is divided in 2 entites + Brcko District whatever you want it or not. --Ante Perkovic 17:56, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ante: I didnt say against that! I told you that Bosnia is a independence country and you dont agree!!! Why? Are you saying that Bosnia isnt an independence country? Haha, you will want that Bosnia is divided between Serbia and Croatia? Do you? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hahahihihoho (talkcontribs).

No. You are just being paranoid. --Ante Perkovic 22:32, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, Bosnia is a member in FN!!! That means that they are independence!!!!!! Get that!!!!!!!!!!!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hahahihihoho (talkcontribs).

Anyway, this is offtopic here. Please, continue on my talk page. --Ante Perkovic

How do I write the waves like you did to sign my name?

hangon[edit]

What do you mean by missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image. Image is definitely not corrupt and not without descroption. So, what the hell is problem with it.

BTW, it's used on 9 pages! --Ante Perkovic 20:54, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please remain calm. Another criterion for CSD I2 is empty description pages of images that exist on Commons, since Wikipedia auomatically pulls in images from there. The page was indeed empty, but it hadbeen blanked by an anonymous user. So I reverted to the last non-blank version. — TKD::Talk 22:56, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
