Incorrect (or ... confusing) background coloring of areas shown[edit]

The little "legend" shown in the "Description" field, says that

  • one color -- (displayed as [       ]) -- means "Controlled by the Nigerian government"; and
  • another color -- (displayed as [       ]) -- means ... something else.

However, at least 90% (probably over 99%) of the area on the map, is the FIRST (sorta pink-looking) color; ... and the ONLY place I can see that other (sorta gray-looking) color, -- the only place I can find it, at all! ... is, -- ["maybe!"] -- where it seems to be showing a boundary between one state (or county?) (or ... parish? or something) and another.

Is that intentional? It does not seem correct to me ... --Mike Schwartz (talk) 18:52, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mike Schwartz: It looks intentional that no area is gray. Older versions in the file history had a little gray around Sambisa Forest. Boko Haram insurgency#2016 says: "On 24 December 2016, President Muhammadu Buhari declared that Boko Haram had been ousted from their last stronghold in the Sambisa Forest, effectively reducing Boko Haram to an insurgent force. This victory left Boko Haram without any territorial holdings; however, Boko Haram still maintains an extensive ability to carry out attacks." But Boko Haram insurgency#2017 does mention a final offensive to retake unspecified "Boko Haram's last strongholds". It seems confusing to display the current map in the Boko Haram insurgency infobox with a legend showing gray. The image is hosted at commons:File:Boko Haram insurgency map.png so it should actually be discussed at commons:File talk:Boko Haram insurgency map.png.
