Apologies, but this map is wrong. It would seem the northern Border only goes up to Massachusetts in the 13 colonies, they claimed up to Maine. I could be wrong, but perhaps the map could be adjusted to better represent this? Also, Rupert's Land in Canada is not present. Also, the Mosquito Coast in Nicaragua is also not coloured in. As far as I can see, the Mosquito Coast was never formally annexed by Britain and at the time of the map the British were not even the legal rulers [1]. As for Maine, this map is not about claims, it's about colonies. Also, FYI, it is based directly on Colin McEvedy's Atlas of North American history "1750" map[2].
