He appears to be inserted. The shadows can't be explained away as well as the contrast and the size of the person. Morcomm (talk) 22:44, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

yes. it is a well-known specimen of manipulated image work. in 1944, he was far from the G family. the minister of propaganda had the resources to have him professionally added to the photo group, but yes as you point out the lighting on him does not match that of the others.
