FINE LADY BAKERIES was formally BANBURY BAKERIES when i joined them as MAINTENANCE ENGINEER IN 1967,( history) Banbury Bakeries was a small very old semi automatic Bakery in Mill Lane in Banbury that was purchased by Haygates, because it was so run down and no room to expand. Haygates purchased the land in southam road and got permision to build a new bakery that was fitted out with a Baker Perkins 6 sack semi automatic Baking plant, siloe and flower blowing system , Tweedy mixers and a slicing machine and wax wrap packing machine. at that time all the bread coming off the turbo radiant trailing oven was knocked out of the tins manually on a dichharge conveyor and ended up on a circulating table where the bread was put into galvanised trays and left to cool down, some time between 1970 and 80 the name Banbury Bakeries was changed to Fine Lady Bakeries by the then director Frances White who took great interest in the Bakery and the staff, info, of help thanks Bob
