I'm not 100% on precisely how, but I know that this map is innacurate on at least a couple of portions shaded as "territory of Rome". For example, the island comprising modern day Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland was never part of any Roman state. Additionally, I believe the territories in Mesopotamia were only temporarily held by Rome, but never constituted a long term portion of the Roman Empire (although this may have changed under the Byzantine Empire). Can we get a more accurate version of this image? Hiberniantears 19:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is probably another inaccuracy with the rhaetian limes, which on this map is shown as being part of the germanic limes (lying to the west of Regensburg, Germany); whereas the rhaetian limes on your map lies somewhere in modern day hungary/romania. This is probably wrong as rhaetia was used as a name for a region in south germany - and is still used to this day as a moniker for the swiss canton of graubünden (to the south of lake of constance). But I'm not absolutely sure. Nouly 19:12, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Limes Germanicus covers on En-WP what is usually described as Upper Germanic & Raetian Limes. Its an UNESCO World Heritage site in Germany, thus the map is very wrong in locating the Raetian Limes somewhere in Hungary. -- Matthead  Discuß   19:40, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I belive that your map is showing two of the goths limes as roman built. At least one of them has the moet orinted to the south.Trajan's Wall or Limes Moesiae, Limes Porolissensis, the gothic wall are:Athanaric's Wall, Greuthungi Wall there also is missing the Limes Transalutanus and also the wall named in Romanian Brazda lui Novac Constanine Wall?

I belive that your effort to show all the limes on the one map must be supported CristianChirita (talk)
